Ayat-Ayat Cinta : A Phenomenal Religious Movie

Ayat-Ayat Cinta is a Indonesian movie masterpiece Hanung Bramantyo, starring Fedi Nuril, Rianti Cartwright, Carissa Putri, Zaskia Adya Mecca, and Melanie Putria. This movie is religious movie, adaption of a best-selling novel El Shizary Habiburrahman, and do the first premiered in 2008. Althought the story of the movie and the novel life in Cairo, but the shot didn't do in the city.

Ayat-Ayat Cinta is the tale of virtous muslim protagonis who overcomes all obstacles in life maintaining pure ideals.

Fedi Nuril as Fahri bin Abdullah is a poor, intelegent studen who wins a scholarhip to complete his graduate degree at Egypt's esteemed Al Azhar University. Very disciplined an dedicated by nature, Fahri embraces his life in Cairo, completing his studies an translation of religious books with full enthusiasm, exactly according to pre-determined targets. Only one goal is left unattemted : the pursuit of marriage.

For Fahri innocent and pure, and doesn't believe in the concept of relationship prior to marriage. He is inarteculate and shy around women. All his life, only two women has been close to him - the mother and the grandmother. Life changes drastically in Egypt for he suddenly find himself sourronded by four beautifull, distincly different women.

Carissa Putri as Marie Girgis, a shy, open minded coptic neighbor who is attracted to the theaching of the quran, find herself falling in love with Fahri.

Melanie Putria as Nurul, a student at Al Azhar like Fahri, is the muslim daughter of a renowned Indonesian cleric. Fahri fells unworthy of her and thus ignores his felling for her, leaving her confused and guessing.

Zaskia Adya Mecca as Noura, an abused Egyptian neighbor, develops strong romantic fellings for Fahri, who in turn simply sympathizes with her situation. His romantic rejection destroy her and eventually leads to a false accusation of rape.

Rianti Cartwright as Aisha, a German-Turkish student in Cairo haunts Fahri with her baeutifull eyes. Following an incident on the metro where Fahri defends her against narrow minded bigoted Muslims, both immediately develop felling of each other.
